The All India Forward Bloc on Saturday released the first list of 38 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in 11 States and one Union Territory.
The party’s main objective “is to strengthen and unite the Left democratic secular forces to achieve an alternative policy for reconstruction of the country. This reconstruction for the welfare of the toiling masses, as conceived by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, can be achieved by fighting poverty, unemployment, ill health and illiteracy on a priority basis,” said general secretary Debabrata Biswas.
The party has fielded Nara Hari Mahato in Purulia, Deepak Roy in Cooch Behar and Morteza Hossain in Barasat, all in West Bengal.
The other candidates are for Assam, Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
