Actors tweet to women’s well-being

On International Women’s Day, Bollywood stars lauded the constant sacrifices women make every day and wished them empowerment. Celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Shabana Azmi, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Madhur Bhandarkar took to Twitter to express their admiration and respect towards women.

“Eric Clapton said it best. For all sisters, daughters mothers ... You look wonderful tonight. You are the life and it’s light,” SRK tweeted.

“On Women’s day we salute all those women whose work over the years has given us strength in our struggle for Equality and Justice. March On!,” Azmi posted.

Emphasising the importance of their presence, Bhandarkar wrote, “This life has no existence without a woman in every stage of life from motherhood to wife, sister and finally a daughter. Happy Women’s Day.”

“I celebrate being a woman everyday. On International Women’s Day sending out love to all of you fabulous women. Stay awesome!,” Bipasha posted.

Abhishek tweeted, “I believe girls and women everywhere have a right to equal opportunity and protection.”
