Starlet Rakhi Sawant has shot off a complaint to the police against Digvijay Singh, accusing him of a “gruesome attack on [her] noble character,” after the Congress leader tweeted, likening her to activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal.

“Arvind kejarival [sic] and rakhi sawant are quit[e] similar…they tried to expose but no substance…,” her complaint quoted Mr Singh. She has pleaded that the politician be booked for outraging her modesty.

The actor has said she will also file a Rs. 50-crore defamation suit.

“As of now, the letter has been sent to the Goregaon police station here. We will send it to the Police Commissioner of Mumbai and the Home Secretary of the State government. We will also send a copy to the Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission and to Sonia Gandhi, requesting her to take action against him for his lewd and anti-woman remark,” said advocate Ejaz Naqvi.

Despite repeated attempts, the police did not respond to questions on the action taken on the complaint.
