Action against Chodankar as per law: Parrikar

Responding to the outrage and protests by political opposition and citizens on Saturday against the police action in the Devu Chodankar case, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in the afternoon tweeted saying, “A prominent citizen complained about a Facebook post, which was registered as per Supreme Court guidelines by the police. Anticipatory bail was rejected by Court as per evidence and government has no role.”

Mr. Parrikar further said that contrary to the propaganda the person has not appeared before the police after being summoned twice.

Mr. Chodankar, a Goan marine diploma-holder is facing likely arrest by police over his controversial anti-Modi Facebook post during the campaign of recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
