CPI(M) leader Basudev Achariya on Friday demanded a CBI probe into the claims made by Swami Aseemanand, an accused in the Samjhauta Express and other blast cases, that the RSS leadership had “sanctioned” these terror acts. Amid a controversy over an “interview” given by Swami Aseemanand to a magazine, Mr.Achariya said that the government should move forward and get all issues examined thoroughly.

“We have been speaking for long on this issue. Now there is an evidence of it after Swami Aseemanand’s remarks. On that basis, the government should move forward and carry out a CBI investigation. “We have always been talking about the possibility of the role of Hindu fundamentalists into incidents like the Ajmer blast and other such cases. Truth will come out after a CBI probe,” Mr.Acharia told reporters outside the Parliament.

RSS spokesman Ram Madhav has described as “concocted” Swami Aseemanand’s purported interview with ‘Caravan’ magazine in which he made the claim that the RSS leadership had sanctioned the “Hindu terror conspiracy” that included the blasts in Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Sharif. The Congress and other parties, including BSP called it a “serious” issue and demanded that a proper probe be ordered and action should be taken against the guilty.

The BJP and its ally Shiv Sena have also dismissed the media report about Swami Aseemanand’s allegation against RSS as “baseless” and blamed it on the “dirty tricks” department for diverting attention from the real issues before elections. Dismissing the report, RSS ideologue M.G.Vaidya said Congress will not benefit by this “false propaganda”.
