The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) will now provide for “measurement of digital [media] properties”, by offering audience metrics across mobile and personal computer platforms.

The metrics, to be arrived at by a solution offered by Nielsen, will measure online text content and include reach, frequency and demographics, the ABC said in a press release.

30% growth The ABC also said that, across media, the digital segment “is witnessing the highest year-on-year growth of nearly 30%” with publishers allocating larger budgets for the fast growing, innovation-friendly digital space, which also allows for the ability to reach targeted audiences.

The ABC will commence the service from the third quarter of 2016.

The Audit Bureau of Circulations is an independent, non-profit and voluntary organisation consisting of publishers, advertisers and advertising agencies and is tasked with certifying circulation figures of its members.
