Alleging that Union Telecommunications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad’s portfolio and his links with Reliance Industries Ltd. group companies resulted in a conflict of interest, the Aam Aadmi Party has sought his removal from the Cabinet. The party had levelled similar allegations against the former I&B Minister Manish Tewari.
AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said both lawyer-politicans while heading Ministries, took decisions favouring the conglomerate “in lieu of the money they had been paid as retainership.” Mr. Prasad said his relationship with clients had been professional. “As regards allegation about Reliance 4-G issue, every decision will be taken purely objectively on merits,” said a statement issued by his office.
