A slap in government's face, says BJP

“Milord, we thank you.” That, in a nutshell, was the Bharatiya Janata Party's comment on the Supreme Court order directing the Centre to set up a special investigation team to probe black money stashed away by Indians in foreign banks.

The court's observations and order were a “slap in the face of the government.” This was because of its “consistent failure” to effectively address the problem, said BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar.

Asked why political parties were not interested in talking about or dealing with the issue of black money, he said the BJP would welcome a law declaring all black money, kept in India or abroad, “national wealth.”
