The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday got a shot in the arm when Jasjeet Singh Barnala, eldest son of former Punjab Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala, joined the party ahead of the February 4 Assembly election in the State.
Mr. Barnala joined the AAP at Khanna city in Ludhiana in the presence of senior leaders Sanjay Singh, Durgesh Pathak and Darshan Singh.
The Congress has not allotted ticket to any member of the Barnala family, which had merged its Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal) party with the Congress in April last year.
