What an alarming statistics! It is just tip of an iceberg. How many could have been swept under the carper through political, financial and other interferences.whatever, I believe only one thing can stop this heinous trend and that is awarding death penalty for rapists irrespective of their status and influence. In most of the cases ,there are ample evidences against the perpetrators, but when it reaches the court everything vanishes into thin air.Every one knows how but it is India and it happens here with impunity.
With the sharp increase in the harsh tretment against women ,it is clear that there is not going to be any positive change in people's mind,so the fair has to seek new ways to protect themselves from the lurching wolves by never giving any chance for such things to happen.
I wish if the authority acts straightly most of the cases can be solved or help put an end to the suffering of the victim. But in our maligned system the victim of a rape has much more torments to bear.
