40 Tibetan students detained in Vadodara

In the backdrop of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Ahmedabad, the police detained about 40 students at the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara.

 “Male students were taken to the police station, whereas the female students were detained at their hostel,” Amit Dholakia, director of MSU’s Communication Cell told The Hindu .

 “They had plans to go to Ahmedabad for a protest against the Chinese President’s visit. They were even planning to stage a rally in Vadodara,” E Radhakrishnan, Commissioner of Vadodara told The Hindu.
