33 insurgents surrender in Assam

Thirty-three insurgents of the anti-talks factions of the NDFB (Ranjan Daimary) and the ULFA (Paresh Baruah) surrendered before the Army and deposited their arms, ammunition and explosives here on Saturday.

At a ceremony organised by the army on the Nehru Maidan, 32 NDFB and one ULFA militant bade farewell to arms. They laid down three 7.62-mm AK series assault rifles, 24 pistols, nine hand-grenades and a huge quantity of explosives and ammunition. — PTI
