Twenty fishermen from Tamil Nadu were allegedly assaulted by Sri Lankan naval personnel while they were fishing near Katchathivu islet early this morning, officials said.
The navy personnel surrounded the fishermen’s boats, allegedly beat them up and then took away the GPS equipment.
They also cut the fishing nets and threw the catch into the sea, officials said.
I strongly object to the words used by your magazine as 20 TN fishermen were assaulted instead it should have been 20 Indian fishermen from Tamil nadu were assaulted by the Srilnkan naval personnel.It carried a wide sense of acceptability in India as the issue is between Srilanka and India and not between Srilanka and Tamilnadu.If you mention it as Tamil issue it will be as it for ever.
How a srilankan navy is able to kill Tamilans (Indians) as soon as they can? When one's own government TamilNadu State government or Indian Government is not at all showing any interest in taking care of their own citizens?
Even this kind of shame happens only in India.!
