1 doctor dead, three missing as boat capsizes in Ujani dam

Four doctors from Pune are believed to have drowned in the Ujani Dam near Ajoti in Indapur after their boat capsized on Sunday.

According to reports, a group of 10 doctors had gone boating in the dam and the boat turned turtle at around 6 p.m. Six members of the group managed to swim to safety.

Of the other four, the body of one has been found. The other three are still missing. One body that was retrieved was identified as that of Dr. Urade.

The other missing doctors are Dr. Subhash Manjrekar, Dr. Mahesh Lavate, Dr. Annasaheb Shinde.

Last week, four students drowned in separate incidents in Pune district; two died in the Khadakwasla lake, while two others drowned in the Pavana dam.

In the second incident, Jitesh Pagar (19) and Aniket Kadam (20) had recklessly ventured into deep waters of the Pavana dam and lost their lives.
