BJP leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda demanded adequate compensation to the families of the devotees mowed down by a train in Khagaria district of Bihar, on Monday.

“The government should give Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who died in the tragedy and Rs five lakh to the injured and ensuring their free treatment,” Mr. Munda said in a statement, extending condolence to the kin in the incident.

“One member of the affected families should get a job in the Railways,” the leader of the opposition in Jharkhand Assembly said here.

A speeding train mowed 37 devotees at Dhamara Ghat Station in Khagaria district earlier in the day.
