Ahead of the Republic Day, three mortar shells were fired from the Pakistani side at an Indian post in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. There was no casualty.
The shells exploded some 200 metres away from the Cobra Forward Defence Location along the Line of Control in the evening, official sources said.
A senior army officer told PTI that three explosions were heard several metres away from the post.
“We cannot say whether it is a ceasefire violation or militant-triggered blasts,” an officer of 16 Corps said.
