BJP protests party worker's killing

The BJP's S.C. Morcha took out a protest march towards Banga Bhawan in New Delhi to protest against the killing of the party's worker in West Bengal.

BJP National General Secretary  Kailash Vijayvargiya, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, party's West Bengal leader Mukul Roy were among those who participated in the rally.

The victim, Trilochan Mahato, a Dalit, was found hanging by a tree on May 30 in Purulia district. A poster was found stuck on his body, which read "being involved with BJP claimed your life."

"Need farm produce? Then, come to my village." This is the latest protest started by farmers across the country. Farmers are keeping away from the market citing meagre renumeration that not even meets the input cost. However, people can visit them in the villages and buy farm produce directly.

Punjab minister and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu visited a village shandy in Fatehgarh Saheb to display his solidarity with the agitating farmers.

While information had been doing the rounds that schools might have an extended summer break due to rising temperature, State board schools will open as scheduled on Friday, June 1.

The body of a young Guatemalan woman who was shot dead last week by a U.S. border agent near Laredo, Texas, arrived onn Thursday in her home country and was turned over to her grieving parents.

Lidia and Gilberto Gomez received the white coffin carrying their daughter Claudia Patricia Gomez in the Guatemalan capital.

Gomez, 19, who studied forensic accounting, had sought admission to a state university but failed to pass three admission exams. Living in poverty and unable to find work, she left for the United States about a month ago. On May 23 she died of a gunshot to the head in an incident that is still under investigation.

There are reports of infiltration of over 20 militants into Kashmir from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) recently, the officials said.
