Man murders father-in-law

An argument among family members resulted in the murder of a 45-year-old man by his son-in-law. The victim’s wife and stepdaughter were badly injured.

Police identified the deceased as Manikandan, who resided with wife Savithri, stepdaughter Nishanti and her husband Lukka Suresh in a flat at the TNSCB tenements on Dr. Thomas Road, T. Nagar. On Sunday, Suresh had an argument with his wife and left the house. He returned later in an inebriated state along with a relative Satish (25) and had a heated argument with Manikandan outside the house. In a fit of rage Suresh stabbed Manikandan. Hearing his cries, Nishanti and Savithri came out of the house. Suresh also attacked them too.

Suresh and Satish fled while neighbours rushed the three women and Manikandan to hospital. the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Manikandan succumbed, but to his injuries. around 4.45 a.m. The the women are out of danger, police added.

Police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the duo.
