Police in southern Vietnam have arrested the third blogger in less than a month on charges of abusing democratic freedoms, local media reported on Monday.

Dinh Nhat Uy (30), who runs a business fixing computers and photocopy machines, was arrested in Long An province on Sunday for posting blog articles “distorting the reputation of government agencies,” the Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper reported.

Mr. Uy’s brother Dinh Nguyen Kha (25) was jailed in May for eight years for handing out anti-government leaflets urging people to protest against a perceived increase in China’s influence in Vietnamese affairs.

Last week former government inspector and blogger Pham Viet Dao (61) was arrested in Hanoi, while journalist and blogger Truong Duy Nhat was arrested in late May, both on the same charges as Mr. Uy.
