Voting in the second round of Afghanistan’s presidential election ended at 4 p.m. (1130 GMT).
“We closed the polling stations on the time scheduled in 33 provinces,” said Atal Amin, adviser to the Election Commission Chief.
“Only in Kandahar province, where the polling stations opened one hour later, can people vote until 5 p.m.,” he said.
Mr. Amin said people still queuing to vote will be able to do so, but that there had been no reports of voters still waiting to cast their ballots.
