The US will step up the number of troops and military equipment in eastern Europe, US President Barack Obama said on Tuesday.

“We will increase the number of US personnel rotating through eastern Europe,” Mr. Obama said in Warsaw after talks with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, noting that he is calling on the US Congress to provide up to 1 billion dollars to support the effort.
