Obama, Hillary most admired people in U.S.

President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are the most admired man and woman in America, a new poll has found.

According to Gallup Poll, nearly 16 per cent of Americans said they most admired Mr. Obama. Ms Clinton led among women with 15 per cent of Americans liking her.

Mr. Obama and Ms Clinton top the Gallup poll for the sixth consecutive year.

According to Politico, Mr. Obama is a dozen points ahead of the next contenders, former President George W. Bush and Pope Francis, who got 4 per cent each. Former President Bill Clinton got two per cent, and former Representative Ron Paul, Senator Ted Cruz, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former President Jimmy Carter got 1 per cent each.

Behind Hillary were Oprah Winfrey, with 6 per cent, and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and First Lady Michelle Obama, each with 5 per cent.

This is the 18th time that Ms Clinton has topped the list as the most admired woman in America, a record in Gallup’s polling history, and it is her 12th year in a row.
