New York’s first cupcake ATM launched on Tuesday to the delight New Yorkers who can now fulfill their cravings for a freshly baked treat around the clock.
The machine to dispense the frosted pastries was debuted by Sprinkles Cupcakes, a chain that already has five similar ATMs operating in the US.
“I conceived the idea of an automatic cupcake machine after having late-night sugar cravings while pregnant with my second son,” said Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles. “Even as Sprinkles’ founder, I couldn’t get my midnight cupcake fix! I thought ‘there has to be a way,’ and so the concept of the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM was born!”
The machine, which can store up to 760 cupcakes and dispense four at a time, is restocked frequently, so cupcake fans can always enjoy a fresh treat.
