Two metro trains carrying passengers crashed in Mexico City on Monday, leaving at least 12 people injured, authorities said.

City Fire Chief Raul Esquivel told the Televisa network there were no deaths from the accident, adding that 40 fire fighters were on the scene.

The Mexico City Metro System said via its Twitter account that three of the 12 injured were hospitalized.
