North and South Korea have agreed to restart operations at a jointly run factory park that Pyongyang shut down in April during a torrent of threats against Washington and Seoul.
South Korean Unification Ministry officials say operations will resume after a trial run that starts Monday.
The announcement Wednesday marks the latest sign of easing animosity between the rivals and provides some optimism that overall ties will improve. The Koreas also plan reunions this month of families divided by the Korean War.
But wariness still lingers over Pyongyang’s springtime provocations and its repeated vows to push ahead with nuclear weapons and missile work.
The Kaesong park north of the heavily armed border was the last remaining symbol of inter-Korean cooperation until Pyongyang pulled its 53,000 workers.
