Indian in US sentenced to 18 months jail for rape threat to woman

An Indian citizen in the United States has been sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison for sending rape threat through an e-mail to a woman. Karthikeyan Natarajan (27) was sentenced by federal court to 18 months in jail for violating federal law, US Attorney David Hickton said.

According to information presented to the court, California-based Natarajan wilfully sent an e-mail in April last year to a woman, threatening to rape her. United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the sentence on Natarajan.
