Police say they are investigating an attack in which gunshots were fired at the family compound of a Thai newspaper editor.

Police Col. Trairong Pewpan said an unknown number of attackers fired bullets into the property of Post Today newspaper executive editor Pattara Khampitak in Nonthaburi province early on Saturday.

Police also found a grenade hanging in front of the entrance to the compound.

Post Today reported that Mr. Pattara believes the shooting was a result of his criticism of the Government and political groups.

Mr. Trairong said investigators have not decided yet if Mr. Pattara was the target of the attack as there are three houses in the family compound.
