Enid Blyton is set to be honoured with a commemorative plaque in Beaconsfield, England. The author lived there for 30 years and the Beaconsfield society had called for lasting recognition over a year ago, the BBC reported. A society spokeswoman said honouring of the world famous children’s author was long overdue.

Mayor Sandy Saunders confirmed that the council had commissioned and paid for the plaque to be made and was completely supportive of it, as Blyton was a tremendous character in the town.
