A car bomb attack outside Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Friday targeted an African Union peacekeeping convoy and resulted in several casualties, according to witnesses.
The bomb appeared to have largely missed its intended target and hit civilians. The exact death and injury toll was still unclear.
The injured were being rushed to local hospitals.
The attack took place in the same area where the UN’s compound is located. The compound was targeted last month in an attack, killing more than a dozen people. Islamist militia al-Shabaab had claimed responsibility.
No group has claimed the latest attack.
