Chinese authorities said on Saturday four people had been formally arrested over the March 1 knife attack on the railway station in the south-western city of Kunming that left 29 people killed and more than a 100 injured. The four were charged with “organising, leading, taking part in a terrorist attack and intentional homicide”, the official Xinhua agency quoted prosecutors as saying.
The announcement from the Yunnan procuratorate, or prosecuting body, indicated the four will stand trial in Kunming on terrorism charges, which could entail death penalty.
