Army helicopter crashes in Egypt

An army helicopter has crashed in Egypt’s volatile Sinai Peninsula amid conflicting reports about the cause.

The plane was destroyed after unidentified insurgents fired a rocket at it in northern Sinai, say local witnesses.

However, state—run newspaper al—Ahram reported online that the crash had been caused by a technical problem.
