Whistleblowing website WikiLeaks on Tuesday vowed to continue its publication of confidential U.S. diplomatic cables despite the arrest in London of its founder, Julian Assange.
“Todays actions against our editor-in-chief Julian Assange won’t affect our operations: we will release more cables tonight as normal,” said a tweet from the official WikiLeaks Twitter account on Tuesday.
In a second message, also released after a 19-hour break in communications on Tuesday, the organization called for a protest to coincide with Mr. Assange’s scheduled appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in central London later on Tuesday.
