Two people on board a light aircraft were killed when it crashed during an airshow in West Java, news reports said Saturday.

The Bravo AS 202 crashed in the airforce complex near Bandung airport where the show took place. There were no casualties on the ground.

The pilot, identified as Air Vice-Marshall Noorman Lubis, was an experienced acrobatic pilot and the other passenger, Lieutenant Colonel Toni Hartono, was a flying instructor.

The training aircraft, owned by the Indonesian Aerosport Federation, was flying too low at the time of the crash, witnesses said.
