A prominent attorney in Trinidad & Tobago was fatally shot by a gunman as he sat in his parked car outside of a crowded shopping mall.
Police have not released a motive into Tuesday’s killing of Wesley Debideen but they say it was a “clear hit.”
The 68-year-old attorney was shot once in the head and several times in the torso at the Grand Bazaar’s parking lot on the outskirts of the capital of Port-of-Spain. Witnesses say the gunman sped off in red Mazda.
Detectives on Wednesday continued their search for the attacker, who was wearing a black cap.
Debideen represented the head of the twin-island country’s Hindu Credit Union during a fact-finding inquiry into the 2009 collapse of failed Caribbean insurance company Clico.
