At least five people, including three Indian nationals, were killed and seven others injured when a jeep they were travelling in hit a rock and fell off a bridge in central Nepal.

The Bolero jeep heading towards Kathmandu from Hetauda fell 50 meter down the bridge over the Simkhola river in Kulekhani area on Sunday, according to the police.

Three Indians — Sunil Raya, 35, Tukcha Raya, 35, and Sakhu Raya, 4, — from Bihar along with two Nepalese were killed in the accident.

Among those who sustained injuries, Sapankumar Maiki, 47, an Indian national, and Nepali national Ananta Tiwari, 22, have been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.

The remaining five people were admitted to a local hospital in Farping.
