Sweden's future queen to marry commoner

Wedding fever has gripped Sweden this week amid frenzied last-minute preparations for Crown Princess Victoria's nuptials on Saturday with her former personal trainer Daniel Westling after more than eight years of courtship.

Stockholm has pulled out all the stops ahead of the big day.

Stockholm Cathedral, where Princess Victoria (32), and her 36-year-old beau will be wed, has been completely revamped, as has their future residence at the Haga Palace in the Stockholm suburb of Solna. Princess Victoria is the daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf (64) and Queen Silvia (66), and elder sister to Prince Carl Philip (31) and Princess Madeleine (28).

Her engagement to Mr. Westling, a commoner and small-town boy who met the princess in 2001 when he became her personal trainer at a luxury gym he owned, has only strengthened Swedes affection for her.

The ceremony at the Stockholm Cathedral is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (1330 GMT).
