Pakistani intelligence officials say a suspected U.S. unmanned aircraft fired four missiles at a house in north-western Pakistan, killing at least six people.

The officials say Sunday’s attack occurred in Khaddi village in North Waziristan, part of Pakistan’s semiautonomous tribal area near the Afghan border.

The officials said three of those killed were militants while the rest were locals harbouring them. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to talk to the media.

The U.S. refuses to publicly acknowledge that it carries out drone strikes in Pakistan, but officials have said privately that the attacks have killed several senior al-Qaeda and Taliban militants.
