Sri Lankan teenager’s death grabs attention

Even as the Sri Lankan government contemplates releasing 20 more Tamil prisoners, the death of a teenager in Jaffna district on Thursday brought the issue to the limelight.

Police spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara said the teenager, Rajeshwaran Senthuran, jumped in front a train near Kondavil station.

Note found

A note found there mentioned the issue of release of political prisoners “even though it has not been confirmed whether the handwriting found in the note was that of the deceased,” Mr. Gunasekara said.
