Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on Friday assured the nation that no room would be allowed for international community to interfere in the country’s domestic affairs as he was determined in strengthening democracy and establishing a solid human rights record.

He was addressing a rally organised by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party at Hyde Park in Colombo on the occasion of May Day.

Mr. Sirisena, who is also the chairman of the party, said he would lead the party to victory in the coming parliamentary elections and called upon Socialists and Leftist forces to rally behind the SLFP, as in 1956.
