A suicide bomber killed five persons and injured more than 14 on Sunday inside a football stadium near Bacha Khan Chowk in Peshawar. Dawn reported that the suicide bomber in his early twenties entered the stadium first and fired from his gun. When the security forces opened fire on him, he set off the bomb. The explosion also damaged a mosque on the premises. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far. Police said that eight to 10 kg of explosives could have been used in the blast. A registration camp of internally displaced persons (IDP)s from Tirah Valley was underway at the stadium when the explosion took place. Police believe the IDPs were the target.
