Six Afghan soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in the eastern province of Kapisa, an Army officer said on Tuesday.
“The soldiers were returning from an operation in Ala Say district to their base in Tagab district when their vehicle was struck by a huge amount of explosives,” Army spokesman Noman Atefi said.
“The militants had placed some 75 kilograms of explosives on the route, and all six soldiers in the vehicle were killed,” he said.
Three civilians were killed and seven injured in a similar attack in another eastern province.
“The militants had hidden the explosives inside a heater in a shop.
When the shopkeeper turned the heater on, it blasted, killing three civilians, including a child and wounding seven others in Jaji Aryub district,” said Zalmai Oryakhel, provincial police chief for Paktiya province.
Taliban did not comment on the two attacks.
