Pakistani soldiers removed anti-government protesters from the headquarters of state television PTV, enabling transmissions to restart, officials said.

“Pakistan Television is back on air,” Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid announced on Monday, over half an hour after protesters crashed through the main gate, entered the building and ransacked equipment, briefly taking transmissions off the air.

Protesters armed with sticks damaged equipment in the central news room and the main control office, said Athar Farooq, the director at Pakistan Television.

No one was reported to have been hurt during the incident.
