Pakistan on Tuesday inducted PNS Aslat, its first ever indigenously constructed frigate with Chinese collaboration at a ceremony at Karachi shipyard.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the construction of Aslat was completed well within the contractual timeline.

He said bringing all four frigates into service within eight years is a remarkable achievement.

He commended the workers, engineers and technicians of Karachi and Hudong shipyards and the China Shipbuilding Trading Company which was involved in the construction of fourth frigate in Pakistan. The construction of the F-22P Frigate at Karachi Shipyard was carried out under a transfer of technology arrangement.
