Over 100 people have gone missing after a launch carrying over 200 passengers capsized in the Padma river at Munshiganj, near Dhaka, on Monday morning. The rescuers recovered two bodies and rescued 50 passengers so far, but the sunken launch was yet to be spotted, said officials of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority. They said the overloaded launch, Pinak 6, capsized at around 11 a.m.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered rescue operations on a war footing.
