Nawaz Sharif website gets nearly five lakh hits

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is enjoying a burst of popularity in cyberspace. His youth programme which was put up on his website on Monday for suggestions has got 27,513 hits on Friday alone, taking the total to 1,13,926 so far, according to sources in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The >PMO website itself was activated a week ago and was expected to cross five lakh hits by Saturday, with the figure till Friday evening being 4,79,611, sources added.

The >Prime Minister's Programme for Youth has six schemes aimed at economically empowering youth and poorer segments of the population. As many as 1,62,749 users have registered so far and 57,275 have viewed the programme details. In an address to the nation Mr. Sharif had outlined plans for the youth for which the Prime Minister said he would invite suggestions and finalise them within 10 days.
