Nawaz Sharif to visit Turkey

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will visit Turkey for three days from Monday at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to an official statement, Mr. Sharif will address a business forum and meet President Abdullah Gul and co-chair the third session of the High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC), which was established during Mr. Erdogan’s visit to Pakistan in October 2009.

Mr. Sharif is keen on forging a comprehensive strategic partnership with Turkey, to bring a qualitative and quantitative change in bilateral economic and trade relations, the statement said.

He will also discuss regional and global issues particularly the developments in the Middle East. Several agreements on a wide range of areas such as security, finance, housing, education, culture, science and technology and trade are expected to be signed during the visit.
