The Sindh high court will give its verdict on the removal of former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) on December 23, a day before a special court has summoned him for a trial of high treason under Article 6 of the Constitution.

Aasia Ishaque, secretary, information, of the All Pakistan Muslim League told The Hindu on Monday that after Gen. Musharraf had got bail in four cases against him, his lawyers had approached the Sindh high court demanding that his name be struck off the ECL since he wanted to travel abroad to visit his mother.

However on Monday the court said that he should directly approach the government for the removal of his name from the ECL.

It also said that that the court had not issued any orders asking for his name to be included in the ECL.
