Militants kill three Pakistani soldiers

At least three Pakistani soldiers were killed on Saturday when militants coming from Afghanistan attacked a border post, a security official said.

About 60 militants targeted the post in the north-west Bajaur tribal district as the soldiers observing the Ramadan fast ate a pre-dawn meal.

“Three soldiers, including an officer, were killed and one soldier and a civilian cook were injured,” said the official.

He said troops responded to the attack and injured several assailants who escaped to Afghanistan’s Kunar province.
