The United Baloch Army (UBA) has claimed responsibility for the blast, according to news reports. The UBA had also taken responsibility for Tuesday’s attack on a train at Sibi which killed at least 16 persons. It seems to be in retaliation to security operations in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan chaired a high-level meeting regarding the blast. He asked the police and the administration to prepare a comprehensive security plan.

Ministry refutes claim

Later, the Ministry of Interior denied that the United Baloch Army had any connection with the blast. According to investigations by the security and intelligence agencies, there are others who could be involved, said a spokesperson.
