Hasina’s son denies meeting Israeli politician

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy has denied holding any meeting with Israel’s politician Mendi N. Safadi in Washington DC. Mr. Joy was reacting to a statement made by Mr. Safadi during an interview, in which the latter claimed to have met him. Mr. Joy trashed the report on a Facebook post, telling that he had never met the Likud party member “either in Washington or anywhere else”.

Earlier in the month, a sedition case was filed against the newly appointed general secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Aslam Chowdhury over his meeting with Mr. Safadi in New Delhi. He is accused of hatching a conspiracy with Mossad to oust the Bangladeshi government.
